Door Replacement or New Installation? We Can Help You Measure for the Perfect Fit!

Thinking about upgrading your doors? Whether you're replacing a worn-out door or adding a new one to a fresh opening, proper measurement is key! At Rapid Repair Services, we want your new door to open smoothly into a beautiful future. Here's a quick guide to measuring for a perfect fit:

Taking Measurements from Your Existing Door:

The easiest scenario is replacing an existing door. In most cases, you can simply use the old door as a reference. Here's what you'll need:

  • Tape Measure: Grab your trusty tape measure and take width, height, and thickness measurements of the door in three different spots. Record the highest value for each dimension.

What if the Existing Door Isn't Perfect?

Sometimes, the old door might not be the ideal reference. In that case, you'll need to measure the doorway itself. Here's what to focus on:

  • Door Frame: Measure the opening in the frame at multiple points for width, height, and thickness (distance between the inner sides). To ensure a snug fit for your new door, use the smallest measurement you record in each case.

    • Width: Measure between the inner edges of the frame at the top, middle, and bottom.

    • Height: Take measurements from the floor to the underside of the top trim of the doorway at the center, left, and right sides.

    • Thickness: Measure the distance from the outer edge of the side frame to the inner edge.

Considering a New Door Installation?

We can help you there too! While the general measurement process is similar, there are additional factors to consider. Feel free to visit our showroom or contact us for a free consultation to ensure a smooth installation process.

Remember: Even the most precise measurements can't account for every little nuance. If you're unsure about any aspect of the measuring or installation process, our team of experts is here to answer your questions and guide you every step of the way.
